Frequently asked questions

When can I download Card Catalog?

Card Catalog is preparing for launch. It is not available to download yet. The Card Catalog page will link to the App Store when it is ready.

Will I need a subscription?

No. The planned release is free for up to 50 items, with a one-time $29.99 USD Lifetime Access purchase for unlimited items. Final local pricing will appear in the App Store.

Can I keep different types of media together?

Yes. Books, movies, music, and comics share one personal catalog. Use media views, Lists, and Smart Lists to organize it.

How does barcode lookup work?

On iPhone or iPad, choose Add, then Scan Barcode. The app reads the identifier and requests available details from its active sources. Not every edition has a match. Search or manual entry remains available; camera scanning is not available on Mac.

Can I bring an existing library?

Supported import paths include Booxter (.bxbooklib), Delicious Library exports, and CSV formats from services such as Goodreads, LibraryThing, and CLZ. Keep your original export and review the import mapping and results before retiring another catalog.

Where will my catalog be stored?

On your devices and, when available for the app, in your private iCloud database. Martin Creative Studios does not operate a library-data server or receive your private catalog.

Will every item have a cover?

Cover availability varies by source and exact edition. Optional lookup downloads available artwork directly to your device. You can also add a cover yourself.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Card Catalog includes CSV and HTML exports, plus JSON backup and restore. Keep backup files somewhere safe; an export contains the information you choose to include.

How will I restore Lifetime Access?

Use Restore Purchases in the app with the Apple account used for the original purchase. Apple manages purchase eligibility and entitlements.

Why are Amazon links marked as paid links?

Optional Amazon links include a public Associate tag. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Opening an external link sends the information needed for that destination to its provider.
